Stambovsky v Ackley

This 4628 square foot 5 bedroom 3 !/2 bathroom in Nyack Ny home  was bought by George and Helen Ackley in the 1960s they raised 4 children in this home and lived there for 31 yrs in the early 90sthe Ackleys decided to sell and a man named Jeffery Stambovsky in the end the sale would fall through   and not for what you would expect on top of the 6 Ackleys there are 3 ghosts Ackleys made it clear that the home was haunted to the buyer didn't believe them or something and went forward but when he to look at the house in person the town let him know the home was on a 5 house walking ghost tour of the city  Stombovsky sued Hellen and her realtor for fraudulent misrepresentation and tried to get out of contract . When it came to closing day Stombovsky didn't show forfeiting his $32,500 down payment on the $650,000 home. The court said that because the home was well known for being haunted the defendant Stambovsky went back on his word and his case was thrown out Stambovsky appealed it with the New York supreme court and won not its called the ghostbuster ruling is now taught in law schools
